The last call on John's route is Laodicea, another prosperous city that grew up at the intersection of trade routes. Three cities, Heiropolis, Colossae and Laodicea where located close to each other and Laodicea was probably the wealthiest. It was known for its wool trade and its medical school but material prosperity can hide so much! Scripture: Revelations 3: 14-22 |
